First up, Duane and I interviewed FPP listener Mat Marrash. Mat trekked out from Ohio to visit NYC. He had his Temba camera bag stuffed with cameras!!!

We also met up with FPP listeners Michael Calleia and Robert Tuttle. Both guys spent a few minutes with Duane and myself discussing cameras and film.

Duane and I were thrilled to interview Keith Canham. Keith (pictured below) is owner of Canham Cameras, Inc., specializing in custom made, large format cameras designed for professional photographers. Keith’s special project is working directly with Eastman Kodak and photographers around the world to assure that film stock is available for large format cameras.





Scott DeSabato, Marketing Manager, Professional Film, Eastman Kodak Company (pictured middle above w/ Duane Polcou and Keith Canham) was on hand to share and discuss information about new film stocks and the bright outlook for film photography. According to Scott, “It’s been a great year for film.”

Peter Gowland shot more than 1,000 magazine covers, mostly glamour shots of female models but also portraits of celebrities including Rock Hudson and Robert Wagner. His covers included Rolling Stone, Playboy, and Modern Photography. He invented elite cameras and equipment that he used to shoot pinups and magazine covers. Check out Peter Gowland's Website. Sadly Peter died on March 10th 2010.

Film Photography on Internet Radio

I started recording a monthly Internet Radio show called the Film Photography Podcast last October in order to share my enthusiasm about shooting film. At that time I was already recording a monthly show covering underground B-Movies (called the Alternative Cinema Podcast). I was chewing up so much time on the AC podcast talking about film photography that I decided to branch out and record a show solely devoted to shooting film.

I had no idea how popular and well received the show would become. I’ve met so many amazing artists these past months and most recently Dan Domme, a podcast listener even visited my studio and did a guest spot on the show.

Duane Polcou chatted a bit about Marty Forscher.
“His best-known invention, patented in 1982, was the Pro-Back, a Polaroid attachment for a 35-millimeter camera that gave photographers an immediate proof print, letting them test a shot without having to wait for the film to be developed. Mr. Forscher also created an early compact motor drive for still cameras.”

Sadly, Mr. Forscher passed away in 2009.

Brian Duffy, whose photographs helped define the mood of the Swinging Sixties, has died aged 76. Together with David Bailey and Terence Donovan, Duffy formed part of the trinity of photographers who became as famous as the models, musicians and film stars they worked with.

The Trackman called in to see if his Dad’s Ansco Clipper arrived at the FPP studio. The Anco Clipper camera was made in the 1940s in the UD and uses type 616 film.



I was able to locate an additional 616 spool, so I rolled 120 film to the 616 spool in a film changing bag.
