How to Make Money with your Blog and Videos

James Worley on The Film Photography Podcast

Last weekend I had an opportunity to fly south for a few days to visit my childhood pal "John the Trackman" and be a guest on Jim Caldwell's awesome FotoBug Podcast. I also got to hang with Trackman's Videographer friend James Worley.

James is the videomaker who produced the YouTube "Ferrari 458 Italia CRUSHED by Ford F-150 CRASH EXCLUSIVE VIDEO." The video has almost 2 million views and growing. James was kind enough to sit in on my impromptu episode 32 of The Film Photography Podcast. Although he's not a film photographer, I thought that his tips on how to monetize a blog would be invaluable and certainly a great topic for FPP listeners.

  1. Mr. Raso, Your points here are well taken, but sorely out of place in a forum supposedly dedicated to the hobby of film photography. We all need to make a living, popular hobbies and events make for earning opportunities, but I thought THIS was to be for the love of film photography. I do hope you re-orient this podcast toward its original stated charter and spin the impulse toward "monitizing" the hobby, off to another arena. However, it is YOUR blog/podcast, so you do as you see fit. As it stands, I don't think I'll be listening much more if it continues on this track. Respectfully, Frank Wylie.

  3. Hi Frank,
No worries! FPP Episode 32 was a bonus episode. It's short, sweet and hopefully of interest to those listeners who have asked "Can I make money with my blog." Thanks for the input. - Michael, FPP
